The concept of RES development in Kazakhstan, which is approved by the head of the state, concerns the bringing of the share of RES to 3 % by 2020, to 10 % in 2030, and up to 50 % by 2050.

Annual duration of solar activity in the southern regions of Kazakhstan equals to 2,200 – 3,000 hours a year.

Estimated capacity is 1,300 – 1,800 kW per1 m2 a year.

Eco Power Kazakhstan plans to build and run the largest in Kazakhstan Photovoltaic Power Station near the village of Zarechny in Almaty Region with output capacity of 300 MW in three stages,100 MW each. The power of the first unit -100 MW. The annual power capacity — from 220 up to 300 million kW/h.

There is a land plot of 550 ha near the City of Kapshagay in the possession of Eco Power Kazakhstan.

Approximate construction period is 2 years. The first unit of Photovoltaic Power Station of 100 MW will be equipped with more than 400 thousand of solar arrays with total area of up to 150 ha and about 100 inverters.

Every unit of 100 MW gives 220 – 300 million kW of electricity per year, depending on solar activity.

Electric power comes into urban electric networks. Wheeling is provided by KEGOG, the national operator of networks, and it is shared at the discretion of the government.

  • Contribution to the environment – reduced emissions, the preservation of underground resources, and increasing of the tax-solvency of the population.
